philosophy
Come rain, shine, or wind, your wedding day—like life—is beautifully full of surprises. We all imagine the perfect day, but the real magic happens in the unplanned moments—the breeze that lifts your veil, the unexpected golden light, the laughter when the wind catches your vows.
I believe in capturing not just how your day looked, but how it felt. The joy, the energy, the authenticity of each fleeting moment—because the best memories aren’t scripted, they’re lived.

goals
More than just photographs, my goal is to tell your story—the way it truly felt. Every wedding is unique, filled with moments big and small, expected and unexpected.
I focus on capturing the natural rhythm of the day—the quiet in-between glances, the deep belly laughs, the way your hands find each other without thinking. I’ll gently guide when needed, but mostly, I step back and let you be you. Because the most meaningful photos aren’t staged—they’re felt, lived, and full of heart.

experience
With over 20 years of photography experience and 12 years dedicated to capturing weddings, Emma has honed the art of documenting real moments with a natural, unobtrusive approach. Blending an artist’s eye with a storyteller’s intuition, she effortlessly preserves the in-between glances, the spontaneous laughter, and the quiet emotions that make each wedding unique. Her ability to anticipate and capture these fleeting moments ensures that every image feels as authentic as the day itself.
Hey! Im Emma...

I get to spend my days capturing life’s happiest moments—what a dream.
I’ve been telling stories through photography since 2005 and running my own small business since 2011. Documentary-style storytelling is my thing—the real, unposed, beautifully imperfect moments that make life so good.

a little personal...

yep, that's me!
Rocking my favorite t-shirt and probably dreaming up some kind of wild mischief.
I was born in South Africa and feel so lucky to have grown up barefoot, sun-kissed, and endlessly exploring the beach. My parents, originally from England and Ireland, moved to South Africa as kids, so a love for adventure runs deep in the family.
At 18 (and a half, because that extra half definitely counts), I packed my bags, grabbed an open-ended ticket, and set off for the UK. Four years, countless stories, and a whole lot of exploring later, I found my way back to South Africa—changed, inspired, and ready for whatever came next.

working on a cruise liner
After a few beautiful years back in South Africa, working in film and photography production, I felt the itch to explore again. So, I packed up and set sail—literally—jumping into life at sea to see more of the world.
Somewhere in the middle of all that adventure (and nearly three years on the ocean), I met my husband. Me, a photographer. Him, a videographer. A perfect match, both behind the camera and in life.
After a few contracts together, we took a vacation to Northern California—his home turf. One thing led to another, we found our land legs… and I never left. :)

THE REST IS BEAUTIFUL HISTORY......AND WE ARE BUSY MAKING IT.
Two amazing girls, three dogs, one (very) crazy cat, and a couple of hamsters who, well… didn’t make it. Throw in a few big moves across California thanks to John’s job changes, and here we are—right where we’re meant to be.
These days, we’re soaking in the present, cheering on our girls, and embracing all the little moments that make up this wild, beautiful life.
