I was born in South Africa and I feel so lucky for the barefoot and beach lifestyle I grew up with.
My parents are English and Irish decent and moved to South Africa as children. I always knew I would travel. I would sit on the beach of the Indian Ocean ( Muizenberg - South Africa) looking out across the waters to what might be on the other side.
At the beautiful age of 18.5 I packed my bags with an open ended ticket to London with £100 cash in my pocket. I landed an Au-Pair job with a beautiful family in Windsor where I stayed a year and then continued on my adventures. I returned to South Africa four years later.
After some beautiful years back in South Africa, being with family, seeing my nephews. Working jobs in Film & Photography production I had a crossroads!!
I was offered a job at a Graphic Design (this is what I studied after school) firm in South Africa the same day I was approved to work as a photographer on a cruise line!
What was I going to do??
Well.... I met my soon to be husband on the cruise. Me, a photographer and him a Videographer.
This was after 3 years working on cruise ships.
I headed to Northern California for a vacation after a contract ... and never left!!
